Take plenty of refreshments. Children generally become unsettled in a car if they do not have enough hydration.
• Ensure that you stop two or three times during the journey, not only to break the time up, but also to give everyone a chance to stretch their legs.
• Pack things in the car to keep the children occupied; for example: paper and coloured pens, books, and comics.
We live on the south coast of England, and occasionally enjoy a holiday weekend in Wales. As a family, we particularly enjoy staying in holiday cottages in Wales, especially those in some remote location in the mountainous region of the north. There are two children in the family, and so far neither have created any problems during the long journey.
