Great post, Vikram!

Maintaining your current weight while
eating healthy is a smart goal that many overlook in favor of extreme weight loss or gain. It's all about balance and sustainability, and your tips are definitely on point.
Here are a few thoughts and additions from my side that might help others trying to stay fit while maintaining their weight:
Calorie Awareness, Not Obsession:
Counting calories can be helpful, but it’s more important to understand where your calories are coming from. Prioritize nutrient-dense foods—like whole grains, lean proteins, healthy fats, and fiber-rich veggies—over empty calories from processed snacks or sugary drinks.
Include Balanced Dairy:
Dairy is great for calcium, protein, and vitamin D, but portion control is key. Opt for low-fat or unsweetened options like Greek yogurt or toned milk, especially if you're trying to balance calorie intake.
Plan, But Stay Flexible:
Meal planning helps avoid impulsive, unhealthy choices. I like to prep basics (boiled eggs, grilled veggies, quinoa, etc.) in advance, so it’s easy to mix and match during the week. Just remember—flexibility is key to avoid burnout or boredom with food.
Move More, Even in Small Ways:
Adding exercise minutes is smart, especially since maintaining weight requires consistent activity. Even small daily habits like taking stairs, walking post-meals, or doing a quick 10-minute stretch session can make a difference.
Weigh Yourself—but Don’t Obsess:
Daily weighing can be helpful for accountability, but remember: weight fluctuates due to many factors like water retention, hormones, or time of day. It's more important to track weekly averages or how your clothes fit to assess real progress.
Bonus Tips:
✔ Stay hydrated—thirst is often confused with hunger
✔ Prioritize sleep—poor sleep disrupts metabolism and appetite
✔ Practice mindful eating—slow down and listen to your body's hunger/fullness cues
Maintaining weight is a long-term commitment and a sign of a healthy, sustainable lifestyle. Keep up the good work and stay consistent—your body will thank you for it in the long run!
Would love to hear what healthy swaps or habits others are using to maintain their weight!
