In the Asia Cup match against the United Arab Emirates, India’s bowlers delivered a masterclass, completely dismantling the opposition and leaving UAE head coach Lalchand Rajput conceding India’s superiority. The UAE side was bowled out for a mere 57 runs in just 13.1 overs, and India chased down the target in only 4.3 overs. Rajput praised India’s “elite” bowling attack, saying his players were “overawed” by the calibre of India’s personnel.

Kuldeep Yadav was the star of the bowling lineup. Returning after a long break, he picked up a sensational four-wicket haul. He was ably supported by Shivam Dube (3 for 4), along with contributions from Varun Chakaravarthy, Axar Patel, and Jasprit Bumrah. The spin-heavy attack proved decisive. Once the powerplay ended, Indian spinners took over—and the UAE batters struggled to cope. Rajput pointed out that even experienced opponents would find it tough to counter bowlers of the quality of Kuldeep and Varun in these conditions.

Rajput also emphasised India’s depth, noting the team could field specialist spinners and still leave out a player like Arshdeep Singh. He believes this strength will ensure India “crushes” rival teams in the Asia Cup, given their current form and balance.
