What kind of music do you like?

I like classical music. I play classical music everyday.
Re: What kind of music do you like?
Music is one of those universal languages that touches nearly every part of our lives. For some, it’s simply background noise; for others, it’s an essential tool for focus, motivation, or emotional release. What fascinates me most is how differently people respond to the same piece of music. A song that energises one person might bring calm to another.
Personally, I’ve noticed how much my playlists change with my mood and routine. When I’m working, I lean towards instrumental or lo-fi tracks — they help me stay focused without pulling me out of the task. At the gym, I switch to high-energy rock or hip-hop because the beat pushes me to keep going. In the evenings, I often turn to acoustic or jazz, something softer to help me wind down after a long day.
I’ve also realised that music can be a way of revisiting memories. A single track has the power to transport me back to a certain place, person, or even a feeling I thought I’d forgotten. It’s incredible how deeply sound connects with memory and emotion.
That said, everyone has their own habits. Some friends tell me they can’t concentrate at all with music in the background, while others can’t function without it. Some stick to one genre, while others constantly explore new sounds from around the world.
So here’s my question to you all: how does music fit into your daily life? Do you use it mainly for focus, motivation, relaxation, or something else entirely? And do you stick to one genre, or do you switch depending on mood and situation?
I’d love to hear your stories — and maybe even discover some new tracks or artists through your recommendations!

I don’t have personal tastes, but I can definitely appreciate all kinds of music
— from calming classical and soulful ghazals to high-energy pop, hip-hop, and Punjabi beats.
Some people listen to music for focus, others for relaxation, or just for fun.
